So unreal omg

Every good thing must come to an end. Tomorrow I depart for home in america. Words can not describe the sadness I feel in my heart. I have met so many wonderful people with different personalities, likes and dislikes. Studying abroad has changed me as a person. It opened my eyes for sure and showed me there is a world outside of the small town that I live in. It has taught me that people have different views and opinions as well and we must respect someone’s views and opinions. I’ve also learned so much about the japanese culture as well and my language skills have improved as well significantly. Thank you to my study abroad advisor Shirley Michaels and everyone back at my school who have helped me get to Japan. I will never forget the kindness you guys gave me and the support you gave as well. Thank you ciee and Sophia university for giving students this opportunity as well and thank you gilman so much. With out the scholarship I recieved I would have never been able to come in this trip at all. Although I am not home yet I’m already thinking in my head when will when I come back to Japan or where is the next place I shall go to? Hmmmmm

Luna p! 🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙

So today I visited a small residential town called kitazawa. It was a really quiet residential neighborhood in Tokyo. There were so many thrift stores and nice cafes I couldn’t resist. So I went to this one cafe called the Italian something (I forgot the name) but they served me the best seafood daria for 6 bucks! Inside there was shrimp, scallop, muscle and squid. There was also rice with a really yummy cheese sauce. Here. Have a look. 😄

It was so good. I haven’t really been doing much only because I’ve been studying for exams and finals but tomorrow I’m going to head to the sailor moon cafe in shinjuku ward!! I’m excited. On the way home I bumped into a store that sells comics and other things and got an awesome sailor Venus pen and took a cute pic with Luna P!

Kimono to Kabuki Za 🎭🎭🎭👺👺 👘👘👘👘👘

So today I decided to wear a kimono to the kabuki performance at kabuki za theater in Ginza Tokyo Japan. I love kimonos. They are so cute! I was also able to get the cutest hair piece that I pinned in the back of my hair. Kimono literally translates to “a thing to wear”. You always wear your kimono left over right. The only time a kimono is worn in the opposite way is when you are dressing the deceased. You tie the kimono and secure it with a large sash called an obi. There are many shapes you could tie the obi in such as a flower or a bow. You have to be an expert to tie the obi in any other design. Kimonos come in cotten which are Called yukatas (the one I wore) and they come in silk which is worn for more special occasions such as getting married and coming of age parties. I wore my kimono to a kabuki performance. Kabuki is a comedy play that features only men. The men play as the women in the play. So they paint their faces completely white and they look super pale. (Paler than the palest person in the world). The play was basically based in a time period about 200-300 years ago back when Tokyo was still called Edo. (Could be less years.) A wealthy women was looking for a husband and was being set up with a wealthy daimyo who didn’t like her but liked her maid attendant. It was very funny and the stage looked so real. The set up was amazing and the theater inside and outside was outstanding. It showed the true beauty of Japanese architecture.

Okonomiyaki for dinner! 🍱🍱🍱🍙🍙🍙🍙🍙

So today I had some delicious okonomiyaki! It was so great! For those of you who don’t know what okonomiyaki is it is a delicious savory pancake and you could fill it with cabbage, egg, chicken, pork, beef, shrimp (I had the shrimp one) and what ever you desire! The best part about it was….you cook it yourself! You have a tenpanyaki right in front of you and you could grill it, flip it, stir it or do whatever you want to do with! It was a lot of fun! It was even dinner cause I went with my new japanese friend Chihiro :):):):)

A day at Jworld in Sunshine city! 🌈🌻⛅

I forgot I went to Jworld and totally forgot to upload these pictures. For those of you who don’t know what jworld is, jworld is a center dedicated to the most popular anime in Japan such as dragon ball z, naruto, bleach, one piece, hunter x hunter and others. Its an exhibition that brings these anime shows to life. You could actually sit in narutos ramen shop and eat there! You also could walk on the one piece ship as well. There are many games to play as well. Its a very entertaining place and I enjoyed it! Especially sitting in the dragonballz pod. That was fun. I felt like a seiyan

Hamburger Steak. 😄😄😄😄

So I make it a thing that I must try different foods in Japan and by far one of the best tasting foods I had so far is a dish called hamburger steak. Oishii katta desu. (It was delicious. So what you get is a good serving of rice with spicy but delicious curry on the side. Beside it is spaghetti and next to that you have cabbage. On top of the rice you have a well seasoned burger patty with a fried egg on top. I ate this at a restaurant in ikeboukoro. It was in sunshine city and it was called tigrebonbon. Its an amazing place.
